This policy explains how the iOS and watchOS app “Soradama” (the “App”) handles user information.
The developer does not collect or store your name, email address, advertising identifier, or usage history. No account is required, and the developer operates no server that receives user data. Location information needed for weather requests is handled as described below.
To show the weather where you are, the App uses your device's location (latitude and longitude) only with your permission. Those coordinates are sent to weather data providers to retrieve a forecast and to Apple's place-name service to identify the current location. The App and its developer do not link them to your name or store them on a developer-operated server. Each provider's own policy applies to its processing of network data. You can turn location access off at any time in iPhone or Apple Watch Settings; on iPhone, the App remains usable by searching for a city by name.
The App uses the following services for weather data and map display. Requests made by the App contain the coordinates or search text needed for the forecast. As with ordinary internet traffic, providers may also receive connection information such as an IP address.
For maintenance, abuse prevention and troubleshooting, Open-Meteo keeps network logs that may contain IP addresses and coordinates. Its published policy states that these logs are deleted after 90 days. See Open-Meteo's terms and privacy policy for details.
The App shows no advertising, performs no behavioral tracking, and uses no analytics tools to collect usage data.
The cities you choose, the coordinates of the last location used, your unit preference, the last forecast retrieved and the orbs you collect are saved on your own iPhone, for convenience. Widgets on the same device share the data they need to display, such as the location, units and orbs, with the App. Your home-location coordinates and unit preference are synced to a paired Apple Watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity; they do not pass through a developer-operated server. The Watch stores the location, unit preference and weather cache. The orb collection itself is not synced to the Watch. When you export a backup from the App, it creates a file in a location you select. The developer does not receive that file. Removing the corresponding App from a device removes its local in-app data from that device. Exported backups are not deleted automatically; you can manage or delete them at the location where you saved them.
